Jacoba Remick, born in the Netherlands,
has lived most of her adult life in the New England seacoast
area. She began drawing at age three, painting at age eight,
and spent her early years refining techniques of representational
art. In her words, “I was attempting to depict something
as defined…picture perfect.”
As Jacoba matured, she increasingly delved into the meaning of
life and her art as an expression of that meaning. After embracing
the literature of human potential and spiritual evolution, she
began to re-think her work, experiment with various techniques
to liberate her creativity, and use a more intuitive approach
in her work.
