In 1996, Jacoba was introduced to the work of Louisiana
artist, Douglas Walton. She attended one of his workshops in Florida
and, subsequently, painted extensively in a workshop conducted by
Walton on the island of Bali. The bold colors and exotic forms of
that locale allowed her spirit to soar and provided inspiration
that has added a new energy to her work. Additional travel in the
Far East as well as other parts of the world has inspired her work
in ways that are just beginning to emerge.
Jacoba has received numerous awards. She is a member
of the Art League of the Kennebunks, the York Art Association and
the Ocean Reef Art League of Key Largo, Florida. She has studied
at Louisiana Tech University as well as with local and nationally
renowned artists.
Her work is in collections throughout the world.
Locally, Jacoba exhibits at the Village Gallery, 244 York Street,
York, Maine.
